A practical, independent project
RealCostTools brings four connected cost decisions into one place: keeping a car, renting a home, using electricity, and getting to work. The purpose is to make assumptions and tradeoffs visible before you commit money.
The site does not sell financial products or rank providers. There is no hidden recommendation engine, paid placement in calculator results, or registration requirement.
How the tools are developed
Each calculator has a documented mathematical model, validated inputs, and independent benchmark examples. The same engines produce interactive results and the worked examples on each page. Official agencies and original source documents are preferred for reference data.
A calculation can be mathematically consistent while relying on uncertain assumptions. That is why input quality is explained separately from the formula.
